Steele Creek Swim is excited to return for the Spring 2026 season, continuing our mission of providing high quality swim training in a positive and supportive environment. Our spring program builds on strong fundamentals while helping swimmers grow in confidence, skill, and fitness throughout the season.

How the Program Works:

Steele Creek Swim runs structured practices focused on skill development, fitness, and confidence, while keeping training fun and age appropriate. Swimmers are grouped by age and ability so each child receives the right level of instruction and challenge.

  • Practice frequency and flexibility
    Swimmers can attend one or up to three practices per week based on the selected registration package, with flexibility to adjust attendance as family schedules change.
  • Age and ability based groups
    Swimmers are placed in groups based on age and current ability, with adjustments made throughout the season as swimmers progress.

  • Coaching and instruction
    Practices focus on proper technique, stroke development, endurance, and confidence, with clear instruction and individual feedback from experienced coaches at every practice.
  • Progress and growth
    Swimmers work toward steady improvement throughout the season, with monthly intrasquad meets that help swimmers track progress and gain experience in a low pressure setting.

What's Included with Spring Swim:

Flexible Practice Day Options

Practices are offered on multiple days (Monday – Thursday, Saturday) each week at the Palisades High School Pool, allowing families to choose one to three practices per week based on their selected registration package.

Monthly Intrasquad Meets

Each month, swimmers participate in a low pressure intrasquad meet held during a regular practice. These meets help swimmers track progress, gain confidence, and learn how races work in a supportive team environment.

Fun and Engaging Training

Steele Creek Swim creates a positive and engaging training environment where swimmers can improve their skills while still enjoying time in the water. Practices are designed to keep swimmers motivated, and excited to return each week.

Experienced Coaching Staff

Swimmers are coached by experienced local coaches who focus on proper technique, clear instruction, and individual feedback to help each swimmer continue to grow.

Community and Team Spirit

Swimmers train alongside friends and neighbors while building confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Steele Creek Swim emphasizes a supportive team culture where swimmers feel encouraged and connected.

Training Groups:

Baby Sharks (Ages 4 - 5)

Swimmers in the Baby Sharks group are introduced to structured swim training in a fun, positive, and supportive environment. Practices focus on water comfort, basic stroke fundamentals, listening skills, and building confidence in the pool through age-appropriate instruction and activities.

This group is a great fit for young swimmers who have completed swim lessons or participated in summer swim teams and are ready for more structure, skill development, and consistent practice routines.

Saturday: 11:15am – 12:00pm

Junior Sharks (Ages 5 - 8)

Junior Sharks is designed for swimmers who are ready to build consistency and independence in the water while continuing to strengthen fundamental skills. Practices focus on refining basic stroke technique, improving body position, and introducing longer swims in a structured and encouraging environment.

This group is a great fit for swimmers coming from swim lessons, Baby Sharks, or summer swim teams who are ready for more focused instruction, increased water time, and steady skill development as they grow more comfortable and confident in the pool.

Tiger Sharks (Ages 7 - 10)

Tiger Sharks is designed for swimmers who are ready to take the next step in their swim development by strengthening technique, building endurance, and increasing focus during practices. Swimmers work on all four competitive strokes while improving starts, turns, and overall swim efficiency in a structured and supportive environment.

This group is a great fit for swimmers with summer league or year-round experience who are ready for longer practices, more detailed instruction, and consistent training that helps prepare them for swim meets and future competitive opportunities.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Saturday: 10:15am – 11:15am

Great Whites (Ages 11 - 18)

Great Whites is designed for older and more experienced swimmers who are ready to train with greater focus, intensity, and purpose. Practices emphasize advanced technique, building stamina, and developing race skills while continuing to reinforce strong fundamentals across all four competitive strokes.

This group is a great fit for swimmers looking to continue improving performance, prepare for school or summer swim seasons, or maintain consistent training in a structured and supportive team environment led by experienced coaches.

BLUE PACKAGE

(Practices up to 3 times per week)

This package is ideal for swimmers who want consistent training and steady progress throughout the season. With multiple practice days each week, swimmers build stronger technique, endurance, and confidence through regular, focused instruction.

Video Stroke Analysis

(Included with the Blue Package)

Swimmers in the Blue Package receive periodic video stroke analysis during the season, allowing coaches to break down technique and provide clear, visual feedback. Seeing their own swimming helps athletes better understand corrections, build confidence, and improve faster than verbal instruction alone.

FAQs:

What type of swim experience is required to participate in this program?

This program is designed for swimmers with some prior swim experience, including swim lessons, summer swim teams, or year-round programs. Swimmers do not need to be advanced, but should be comfortable in the water. Coaches help place swimmers in the appropriate group based on age and ability.

Are there attendance requirements?

No. Swimmers are encouraged to attend practices consistently, but there is no minimum attendance requirement. Families choose the practice days that work best for their schedule, and swimmers will progress at their own pace.

If I am unable to attend practice on my normal practice day, is my swimmer able to make up that missed day?

Yes. Swimmers may attend a different practice day to make up a missed session, based on availability. This program is designed with busy family schedules in mind, and we ask that families give a heads up when possible so we can plan accordingly.

Are the intrasquad meets mandatory?

No. Intrasquad meets are optional and designed to be fun, low pressure opportunities for swimmers to track progress and gain race experience. Swimmers are encouraged to participate, but attendance is not required.
